How to Prepare for Your Quello Provider Consult
Find out what a Quello provider consult involves, and how to prepare so you can make the most of your time with your provider.
You’ve sent in your test kit. Next up: meeting with a provider. You don’t need to do much to prepare, but a few simple steps can help you get the most out of your appointment.
In this article, we’ll explain what a Quello provider consult involves, what to expect, and how to prepare so you can make the most of your time with your provider.
What is a Quello provider consult?
A Quello provider consult is a 20-25-minute video appointment with a licensed MD or NP who will review your allergy test results.
During the call, you will discuss your allergy history, your allergy blood test results, and the specific allergy treatment plan that makes the most sense for you.
It’s also your chance to ask questions about your results, triggers, or anything you’re unsure about before deciding on next steps.
6 Things to do before your Quello consult
Here are some things to do before your Quello consult to help you feel prepared:
1. Complete your intake form in advance
You will receive an intake form covering basic information that will give your provider the background they need to prepare for your visit. Filling this out in advance helps your provider provide the most individualized care. It should take only a few minutes.
2. Log in a few minutes early
Plan to log into the video waiting room about 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for possible troubleshooting with the technology platform.
All communication happens through the HIPAA-compliant Klara platform, which you can access via the app or by logging in to patient.klara.com on your phone or desktop computer.
3. Know your allergy history
During your consults, the provider will ask you questions about your allergy history, so it helps to be prepared. Some questions to expect:
-
When did you first start experiencing allergy symptoms?
-
What specific allergy symptoms do you have?
-
What time of year, or around what triggers, are your allergies worst?

4. Have your current medications handy
Also note any medications you are taking and any conditions you may have. Some questions you may be asked about your previous medical history include:
-
What medications do you take to manage your allergy symptoms, and how well do they work for you?
-
Do you have any related diagnoses to your allergies, such as asthma, eczema, or recurrent sinus infections?
-
How do allergies affect your quality of life? How do your allergies make life harder?
Your provider wants to understand how severe your symptoms are and how they affect your overall health and well-being. The more detailed information you provide, the better!
5. Think about your biggest questions beforehand.
Some questions you may want to ask your provider to get the most out of your consult include:
-
Based on my history and test results, am I a good candidate for allergy drops?
-
What are the potential side effects/risks of allergy drops?
-
When can I expect to start feeling better?
-
Do I need to stop taking my allergy medications when I start the allergy drops?
-
What does the follow-up structure with Quello look like?
What information should I expect after the consult?
After the provider obtains your thorough allergy history, they will review your IgE blood test results with you. You will also receive a copy of this report after the call to keep for your records.
The provider will then discuss allergy treatment options and whether they recommend allergy drops (sublingual immunotherapy) based on your allergy profile and history.
What Happens If Your Quello Provider Thinks Allergy Drops May Be Right for You?
If the provider determines you are a good candidate for allergy drops, they'll review the treatment plan during that call.
Once they answer all your questions, they will send you paperwork to enrol. This only takes about 2 minutes so you can do it right during the call. Your drops arrive in the mail 5-10 days after your appointment.
